A VISION OF SERVICE
The concept for Christian Village was the dream of a local church elder who felt that area churches could replicate retirement communities sponsored by Churches of Christ and Christian Churches in other parts of the country. As the dream became a reality, Christian Village was established as a ministry of the Christian Churches and Churches of Christ for the aging and infirm in need of independent living or skilled and intermediate nursing care, to serve those of all races, colors, and creeds, and provide financial subsidy according to individual needs.
Since opening the doors of the first apartments in 1987, Christian Village has been quietly growing with the help of area churches and individual donations. Three apartment complexes and a nursing home are now located on a portion of a 42 acre tract of rolling land on Ingram Road in King, North Carolina. The site has a beautiful view of Pilot Mountain and is convenient to shopping and other daily needs. The facilities house and care for almost 200 Piedmont area residents.
Christian Village is owned by the Churches of Christ and Christian Churches of the Piedmont area of North Carolina and operated by a representative Board of Directors from the area churches. True to the goals of the organization, Christian Village provides a range of living opportunities in pleasant surroundings.
